Private Posts

So… I’ve decided I’m going to start taking advantage of this Private Posts thing that WordPress offers. Basically, what it does is allow me to password-protect certain posts, which is good because sometimes I don’t want just Joe Nobody coming on my site and being like “OMG I KNOW EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT JESS OMGWTFBBQ!” Because that’s no fun, I don’t even know or like Joe Nobody.

I’m currently playing around looking at some plugins that will help me manage this. So… I’ll get back to you to let you know how to let me know you want the secret password. :P

Alrighty! So… if you want the secret password, comment on this post and, if I love you, I’ll email it to you. :P

Chronicles of the Hoosier State Pt. 2

Ok, so I figure it’s probably a good idea to finish what I started. Here goes.
Day 3 (Wednesday) cont’d.
So it ended up that my sister was at a holiday party or something, so she didn’t get home until like 10:30pm. I think it was a bunch of bullshit, but oh well, it’s not my responsibility to keep her out of trouble… or know when she’s lying. Ahem. The rest of the day was very uneventful. Watched TV, etc., and that was about it.
Day 4 (Thursday)
Another day full of nooooothing. Sigh. What a waste.
Day 5 (Friday)
My sister decided to throw a fit because I changed the channel on the TV, so I was pretty pissed off most of the day, and it didn’t help that my mom decided to go off on me when she got home too. Ridiculous. So I decided to go out with Lauren and get away from all of them. We went to Broad Ripple and got Indian food at a place called Shalimar, I believe, and it was surprisingly good. I didn’t expect such good food from an Indian place in Indiana, but it was probably up to par with some of my favorite places here in New York. Yum. After we ate, we went to Magic Bus, where I bought a really amazing little incense holder with Buddha on it, and then we decided to see Memoirs of a Geisha, but we had like two hours to spare, so we walked around Glendale Mall for a little while. We went to Old Navy, where I bought some presents for Sean, and then to B. Dalton books, where Lauren spent a gift card and I just kind of looked around. When we finally went to the movie, it was amazing. Spectacular. Incredible. I loved it. I’m dying to read the book now. Even though the actresses were Chinese (Geishas are strictly Japanese), they were amazing. And so gorgeous. Sigh. I wish I were Asian, so badly. After that, we drove home and I called it a night.
Day 6 (Saturday, Christmas Eve)
My dad, my sister and I went to my Grandma’s house to see her for Christmas Eve. My aunts and uncles were there, and my brother and his girlfriend met us there as well. We were supposed to go out for dinner, but my aunt was sick and my other aunt and uncle preferred to just go home. Oh well. :P My brother and his girlfriend went over to visit her dad and grandmother, and the rest of us came home. Then trouble started. My sister started being a bitch, and my mom decided that it was my fault that an argument ensued, of course. So my mom and I got into a huge fight on Christmas Eve, as is pretty much her style–she doesn’t care what day/night it is, she doesn’t hesitate to accuse me of something. She’s gotten into arguments with me on my birthday. Ugh.
When I finally calmed down and decided to emerge from my room, we had spaghetti for dinner, and then my brother and his girlfriend arrived. We hung out for a little while, then went to bed.
Day 7 (Sunday, Christmas Day)
We got up fairly early (9:30ish for me) and all sat around unwrapping presents and watching A Christmas Story on TV. Later in the afternoon, we joined my grandparents, uncle and younger cousins at my grandparents’ house for the traditional LASAGNA dinner and to unwrap more presents. It was fun. :) I’d post what I got for Christmas… but I don’t feel like typing it all out. :P We came home fairly late, then pretty much just hung out and went to bed, haha.
Day 8 (Monday)
Another fairly uneventful day… We went out for lunch with my brother (his girlfriend was in Indianapolis visiting her mom) and then got Starbucks… Afterwards we came home and hung out for a little while with my brother before he and his girlfriend left to go back to Chicago. That was pretty much it for the day… :P
Day 9 (Tuesday)
Mom, Catherine and I went shopping at Bath & Body Works, for their 75% off sale, Cynthia’s Hallmark and Wal-Mart… I got a ton of stuff at Bath & Body Works… so much that I pretty much had to spend the $25 gift card from my uncle to buy a new luggage set at Wal-Mart. So that was pretty fun… We came home and mom made chili for dinner, and we watched Rat Race while I packed all my stuff up–I managed to get it all packed in just 2 checked bags and 1 carry-on backpack!
Day 10 (Wednesday)
After getting up at 5am, I got to the airport in Indianapolis at 6am, got checked in, got a Starbucks Peppermint Chai Latte, got through security… and waited for the plane, which left at 8:05am. To keep myself awake, I talked to Sean on the phone… The plane ride to Chicago was uneventful, and since I had 2 hours to wait in Midway, I decided to get something to eat… McDonald’s was only serving breakfast, so no McDonald’s, and the Chinese place had Ma Po Tofu, but it wasn’t ready, so no Chinese food. I ended up getting some tortilla chips and guacamole from a little Mexican restaurant. It was REALLY good guacamole, I was surprised, especially for airport food! The second plane was just as uneventful… I slept most of the way.
I was so happy to see Sean when I got to LaGuardia. I missed him so much… The first thing I did was give him a biiiiig hug… Then we waited for my checked bags, picked them up and got the hell out of there! :P We got home and decided to take a nap… which ate up the entire evening! :P (I really needed it though.)
Anyway… Sean just got off work like 15 minutes ago… He’s going to stop at Chipotle and get me a burrito for dinner, hehe, then he’ll be home… I expect he’ll be home in like an hour and a half… he’s taking the subway, so it takes a little while longer. :P

There’s a commercial for Brokeback Mountain on right now… Nehemiah was considering going to see it, I don’t know if he did or not. Have any of you seen it? Is it any good? I’ll probably wait to see it when it comes out on DVD or Sean downloads it or something… unless someone thinks it’s really good?

Home again, home again…

Well, I’m home, finally. My flights were fairly uneventful, my stay in Midway for a couple hours was probably just as uneventful… Although I had some really good chips and guacamole from a Mexican restaurant in there.
I had so many presents by the time all the gift-giving was done, that I had to buy another luggage set so that I would have a suitcase to hold them all in. :P It was mostly because Bath & Body Works had a sale and I couldn’t resist, hehe.

So anyway… Yes, I’m home… Sean has started training at Starbucks, long days but he doesn’t seem to mind too much. I think the travel time is what is getting to him, because he has to catch the subway at like 7am to get to work by 9am. But that’s what happens when you have to go from 240th street in the Bronx to City Hall in Manhattan.
The kitties are good… They don’t seem to be very interested in their new toys, but oh well… Can’t expect them to love everything we buy for them.
It’s so good to have cable internet again… It’s so fast, yay!!! :D

Urgh. I don’t really have anything to talk about right now… Maybe I’ll write more later. :P
