Back from Indiana

Y’know what’s really scary?
In the past week I’ve spent over 24 hours in the truck, on the road. Probably closer to 30 hours. That’s a whole day’s worth of just sitting there.
No wonder I’m going nuts.

We got home fairly late last night… I mean, not like 2am or anything, but late enough for both of us to be exhausted. This morning, when it came time to wake up to go to Italian class… it wasn’t going to happen. I was supposed to have an exam in Marine Bio today, too, but… that was out of the question, too. I was just too exhausted.
It’s my fault, though… I wanted to stay in Indiana an extra day to spend time with my grandparents.

I don’t normally do this, but I think this entry is going to run a little long, so let’s try one of those lovely ‘more’ tags…

Itching…

My Luna teapot came yesterday! It’s really cute, but it seems a lot smaller than I imagined. Sean and I shared a pot of Mango Melange last night, and we each got about three cups out of it, so I suppose there’s a lot more room in there than I thought! Probably because it’s round… like the whole thinking behind the VW Beetles — round = more space? Oh well! :P

One of the girls on Lavish posted a photo of the new tattoo she just got, on her right wrist… And it’s got me itching for tattoo #2 again. But seeing as I’m horrible at writing in Chinese (making any attempts at calligraphy completely illegible), can’t find a tattoo artist who I trust has had ample training in Chinese calligraphy and don’t want to end up on Hanzi Smatter (as much as I love that site), I’m going to hold off. I’m thinking I might ask Sean’s grandfather to write out the calligraphy for me, but I won’t be seeing him again until at least December… so that means it’ll be a while before it happens. But hey, that gives me time to figure out how to ask him to write out the calligraphy in Mandarin… :P

Tomorrow after class Sean and I are going to leave to go to Indiana. My grandmother on my dad’s side is not doing very well and I haven’t seen my parents since June or July when we met them in Vegas, so it’s probably time for me to go back. IN’s not my favorite place in the world to spend a long weekend off (we have no school from tomorrow after our classes until Wednesday) but sometimes there’s not a choice, sometimes things have to be done for family’s sake instead of… vacation’s sake.

Bloody Mess

Dear Vials of Blood (all three of you):
Goodbye! I’ll miss you! Write back soon, hopefully to tell me I don’t have Lyme Disease!
Much love. – Jess.

Welp. It’s over and done, and it wasn’t too horribly bad. Emily came with me, we were laughing and talking about perineums and my cats the whole time. She didn’t look, and I didn’t look, but, thank goodness, the nurse looked. I wouldn’t want to know what would happen if she hadn’t been looking.
All three vials filled up really fast, I didn’t even really notice it. I felt the little needle prick and kept waiting for some kind of… odd sensation, like my “essence” or “life force” draining out of my body… that never came. When I stood up and looked over at the table, I was pretty surprised that there were three full vials there. I done good!

So yeah. It’s all over and done.
And she gave me an apple flavored Quaker Breakfast Bar to settle my tummy. It tastes good, like apple cinnamon oatmeal. The Quaker brand done good.
I kind of have a headache, but I’m not sure if it’s from having my blood drawn or just a residual headache from last night — Sean and I got into a bit of a fight before bed, but we resolved it fairly fast and I think everything’s better. It was just penned-up nerves and stress that kind of exploded in a big gooey mess. Kinda like the inside of this Breakfast Bar… only not as tasty.
