Perfect.

For my memoir writing class, we have to write the first drafts of our semester-long 12-15 page memoir projects for tomorrow.
That’s fine, I can handle writing 12-15 pages (she even said it could be a little less).

What I can’t handle is the flood of emotions coming out of all of this digging. These memories and feelings were repressed for a reason.

Asleep at the Wheel

Urrrrrgh.
So I used to have this cool plugin, right, that would email everyone registered on Lianhua every time I posted a new blog, right? Yah, and it was really cool, right?
Yeah. Then WordPress came out with 2.1. And I upgraded to 2.1.
I’ve tried upgrading the plugin to the new beta version that the plugin creator has come out with, but for some reason it refuses to realize who is registered! So for some reason it’s only seeing 8 of the 13 registered users… uh what?
So I guess I’m going to give it a few days and see if the plugin gets updated again. It’s just so annoying, because I know there are a couple people who like getting those emails letting them know that there’s something new here, because otherwise they might get caught up in something else and forget to check, yknow? I completely understand, because I have the same problem…
I’ve started using RSS feeds for my problem, but… I check my email all the time, yknow? I don’t always remember to check my RSS feeds, but I’m religious when it comes to my email.

Speaking of RSS feeds… if you’re not using one, you suck. Go get one so I can keep tabs on you!

And still speaking of RSS feeds, it’s also good to use them for things like Unconscious Mutterings, or other meme-type-things, because… it tells you when a new update has been added; you don’t have to go there to find out the week’s update. I’ve added Unconscious Mutterings to my RSS feeder, and voilà! Every Sunday, when a new one is added, I can snatch it up! And this Sunday’s will follow the bloggy stuff. :)

My favorite RSS feeder is Sage, which is actually a neat little extension for FireFox. It’s kind of like live bookmarks — it lists your Feeds in the sidebar, and you can check for updates on all of them whenever you want. Then you can read the updates, mark them as read, whatever. Sorry, I’m not the best at explaining how it works or what it does — all I know is that it lets me read all of my RSS feeds in one convenient place… The best way to find out what it does is to just try it yourself! It’s easy to install and uninstall — just like every other extension in FireFox, of course — so there’s no commitment necessary.

Sean is playing Paper Mario 2: The Thousand Year Old Door on the GameCube right now… He’s been playing it for a few hours now… It was his Christmas Present from Kelly. Technically I think I left our copy of Super Smash Bros. in LA… KELLY if you’re reading this — is it in your GameCube box? I know we set it aside, but did it somehow get tossed into the box by mistake? If not, I’ll have to call Miana and see if she knows where it is…

I feel like I have nothing to dooooo… I know I technically should work on school stuff… but I don’t want to. Technically, I have Italian homework due on Monday, some screenwriting stuff to work through for Wednesday and a first draft of my memoir project for my memoir writing class due on Thursday… But I really don’t waaaaaant to do any of it right now. Bleh.

Okay, Sean’s telling me he’s done playing Paper Mario for tonight, so off to bed we go!

I leave you with my Unconscious Mutterings for the week:

I messed with the theme again. :P I took some gorgeous photos of Toby, and decided I wanted to put one up as the header-ish image for my theme… and this one turned out especially gorgeous, so I used it.

Sean installed Parallels on my laptop tonight, and… I love it! I wanted it specifically to run Photoshop CS2, because I’d heard it has troubles running in OSX on an Intel processor, and it runs beautifully in Parallels. It’s been really sluggish in OSX; Sean wants to try to reinstall it and see if that helps, but… it’s faster in Parallels than it ever was in OSX.
[continues to babble on about OSX v. WinXP and the joyful union that is Parallels...]
So, unless Photoshop is insanely fast after the reinstall, I’m going to stick with Parallels, I think. It’s nice to have to check my site in IE, too, so I might as well keep it, yknow?

I’ve also been playing around with the new version of iPhoto, since it came with my computer. It is AMAZING. Sarah had been telling me the joys of LightRoom, so I was seriously considering getting it — if for no other reason than the gorgeous vignettes I had seen on her photos! But… now I don’t have to! iPhoto has a vignette filter built in, and so far, it’s gorgeous!
Toby
Look at how GORGEOUS that is! *dies of happiness* I am so incredibly loving this!
It also has a ton of little slider bar options for Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Saturation, Temperature, Exposure, etc, etc, etc and filters like Sepia, B&W, “Antique”, etc. I no longer have to open Photoshop to edit my photos! Thank you, iPhoto!!

ANYWAY, though… It’s 5:30am (meep!) so I’d better hurry and get off here and go to BED. I just wanted to gush a little about happy computer fun times! Ciaociao!
