BOO!

Yeah, yeah, is Halloween, I’m cheesy, I know.

We were planning on going to the Halloween Parade in the East Village, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. Out of the four of us who were planning on going together, I’m the only one with a complete costume. Yeah, it all came in one bag and it wasn’t something obscure and original with hand-made accessories, but they make costumes like mine for a reason, you know…
There’s still a slim chance we’ll end up going, apparently, but I’m kind of really doubting it. Meh.

Bleh. It’s really frustrating. I guess we can try for next year.

Does LA have a Halloween parade? I’m seeing some stuff in West Hollywood, is it any good? (Do I even have readers in LA?)

I guess one consolation is the fact that the top to my costume (I was going to be a geisha) can be worn as a regular shirt and not look too bad. I can save it for Chinese New Year or something (it looks more Chinese than Japanese anyway).

Car Drama and a New Baby!

The past few weeks have been NUTS!

The last weekend of September Sean drove Kimmie and me over to Philadelphia to visit our boss and get some one-on-one work done with her. It was a great trip — we got to stop at Cracker Barrel (there are none within an hour’s drive from us!), we got to play with our boss’s one-year old baby boy, we got to have a relaxing weekend — and I really can’t wait until November, when we get to go again.

The way back, however, was pretty eventful… in both good and bad ways.

On the way back we stopped in New Jersey at Corey & Ryan’s (of Furry Animals Oh My!) and added a passenger!

Lianhua.nu goes PINK… again!

I’m sure a few of you remember the last time you saw this much pink on Lianhua.nu, and hopefully you remember why.

From last year:

As some of you may or may not know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month here in the US, and all across the country women and men are gathering together and showing their color — pink — in order to raise awareness of and research for breast cancer.
Normally, I don’t really participate in various movements and charities for a variety of reasons, the number one being that there’s not a lot I can do. I’d love to donate money, but Sean and I often struggle just to scrape rent together each month. I’d love to stand outside with a big sign with some flashy, heart-wrenching slogan on it, but too many things keep me from doing that (school, work, etc). So when something like NBCAM comes along, what can I do besides just sit here wearing a little ribbon?
This year, I found the answer at PinkforOctober.org.

After all… what better way to show all of my friends that I care about this cause than to render my site unrecognizable in support of it?

This year is a little different, though. Instead of rendering my site unrecognizable, or changing everything about it to be all activist-y, I’ve just decided to be myself and be pink. And so the new design, as you can probably tell, is strangely similar to the previous design. Why put on a charade and change who I am to support a cause? I support the cause without having to change anything but my color!
I’m not exactly sure where I was going with that, or even where I went… but regardless, Lianhua.nu is Pink for October, again! :)

Another update coming soon. :)
