I (still) heart New York

The past few days I just keep finding things that remind me of New York. I was flipping through my mom’s blog and found her album of photos from our trip to NYC for my commencement ceremony, with photos of Derek and me up on top of Rockefeller Center, with the Empire State Building in the background. Then tonight I happened upon an entry one of my best friends, Emily, had written about the things she missed about New York when she was visiting in California, and vice-versa, and it got me thinking about what I miss about New York… and the things that I could never give up from Los Angeles.

Smothering, Moody and Narcissistic

Friday night’s dinner party was a huge success, even though we only ended up with a total of six people instead of the eight we’d planned on. The food was delicious, we all talked and had a great time hanging out with each other and everyone went away with full bellies and smiling faces. I meant to get photos, but I never got my camera taken out before everyone arrived (I was rushing around making olive tapenade, roasted asparagus in prosciutto and some yummy bread with cheese on top) and then got so caught up in spending time with friends that it never surfaced. Oh well.

And the days go by…

Derek and I are anxiously preparing for a dinner party with a few of our closest friends Friday night, so we’re running around like chickens with our heads cut off. Or something.

So I just wanted to pop on here and share one of my favorite music videos. It never fails to make me smile, giggle or bust out laughing. At least one of the three, if not all. :)
